Introduction
The Six of Wands is a card of success, recognition, and forward momentum.
Something has worked. Effort has paid off. There is acknowledgment — either from others, or from within — that progress has been made.
But this card doesn’t always show up in moments of pure confidence.
Sometimes it appears when someone should feel proud… but instead feels exposed, unsure, or worried about maintaining that success.
Sometimes it appears when validation is present, but the person doesn’t fully trust it yet.
In these exercises, you’ll work with situations where something is going right — and your role is to help your client understand what that success actually means, how to hold it, and how to move forward without losing themselves in it.
Exercise 1
📝 Fictional client email:
Hi,
Something happened recently that I’ve been working toward for a long time.
I got a promotion at work. It’s a role I really wanted, and on paper, it’s exactly what I’ve been aiming for.
Everyone around me seems happy for me. My boss was very clear that I earned it, and people keep congratulating me.
But if I’m being honest, I don’t feel as confident as I thought I would.
It’s like part of me is waiting for someone to realize they made a mistake.
I keep double-checking everything I do, overthinking small decisions, and wondering if I can actually live up to what’s expected of me now.
I thought this would feel like a clear win… but instead it feels like pressure.
So I guess my question is: is this something I’m actually ready for, or did I step into something I can’t fully handle yet?
– Adrian
💬 Let’s look at what’s happening here:
Adrian is not lacking success.
He’s struggling with holding it.
The Six of Wands often appears when recognition is real — but internal confidence hasn’t fully caught up yet.
As a reader, your role is not just to say “you deserve this” — but to help him understand what this success actually represents, and how to stand in it without collapsing under it.
🎯 Your Exercise:
For this reading, you draw The Six of Wands.
Write your response to Adrian as if you were answering him professionally.
- Acknowledge the recognition he’s received
- Address his self-doubt without reinforcing it
- Help him understand what this moment actually means
When you’re ready, compare your answer to mine.

Exercise 1.2
Now we deepen Adrian’s situation.
This time, the cards are:
The Six of Wands + The Nine of Swords + The King of Pentacles
Explore:
- Where is his anxiety coming from?
- What does success actually look like long-term?
- How does he stabilize into this role?
Write your answer, then compare it to mine.

Exercise 2
📧 Fictional Client Email — Alina
Hi,
I’m writing because something has recently shifted in my social life, and I don’t know how to navigate it.
Over the past year, I’ve worked a lot on myself. I changed some habits, focused more on my goals, and started showing up differently in general.
And now I’m noticing that people respond to me differently.
I get more attention, more invitations, more interest — especially romantically.
On one hand, it feels good. I can tell something has changed.
On the other hand, it feels a bit overwhelming.
I’m not sure who is genuinely interested in me and who is just reacting to this “new version” of me.
And I also don’t want to lose myself in other people’s attention.
So I guess my question is: how do I handle this without getting carried away or making the wrong choices?
– Alina

Closing the Six of Wands Exercises
The Six of Wands reminds us that success is not just about reaching a moment — it’s about knowing how to stand in it.
These exercises show how often people experience recognition and then question it, doubt it, or feel overwhelmed by it.
As a reader, your role is to help them understand that success doesn’t need to be perfect to be real.
