The World: Practical Tarot Exercises

Introduction

The World is the card of completion, mastery, and arrival. It’s what happens when a chapter truly closes — not with drama, but with a deep sense of “I did it.” This card speaks of wholeness, integration, and the moment you realize you’ve become someone new through what you’ve lived.

In readings, The World can show:

  • achieving a goal or finally “landing” where you belong,
  • closure that feels clean and final,
  • stepping into a bigger stage (visibility, recognition, expansion),
  • travel, international ties, or long-distance themes,
  • and the quiet confidence that comes from knowing you’re ready for what’s next.

The World doesn’t beg life for permission. It confirms: you’ve earned this.

How these exercises work

You’ll receive fictional client emails. Each email has two practice rounds:

  • Exercise 1: read the situation with The World alone (one-card answer)
  • Exercise 1.2: read the same situation with The World + two clarifiers (three-card answer)

Write your own reply first, then open the spoiler to compare with my sample answer. And remember: you can reuse these emails anytime and pull your own cards (one card, three cards, or a full spread).

Exercise 1 — “Is this the right path… or am I settling?”

📧 Fictional client email
From: Valerie
Subject: Have I arrived — or should I want more?

Hi,

I’m in a strange place emotionally, because on paper everything is good. I finally got a stable job I don’t hate, I’ve moved into a cozy apartment, and my life is calm.

But sometimes I wonder if calm means I’ve stopped growing. I used to be more ambitious and more restless. Now I feel like I’ve “landed,” and I don’t know if that’s peace… or if I’m settling.

What do the cards say about where I’m at in life right now?

Thank you,
Valerie

Exercise 1 (one-card)

🎯 Set card: The World

Exercise 1.2 (three-card)

🎯 Set cards: The World + Four of Wands + Queen of Wands

Exercise 2 — “I think it’s over… but I can’t let go.”

📧 Fictional client email
From: John
Subject: Do I finally move on — or is there unfinished business?

Hello,

I’ve been stuck emotionally in a situation for months. It’s not even a typical relationship — it’s more like a connection that never fully happened, but I can’t stop thinking about it.

There was chemistry, then distance, then silence. No real closure. Part of me feels like I should reach out. Another part of me feels like I’m just trying to force a door open because I hate not knowing.

What do the cards say — is there still something here, or is it time to close this chapter?

Thank you,
John

Exercise 2 (one-card)

🎯 Set card: The World

Exercise 2.2 (three-card)

🎯 Set cards: The World + Two of Swords + Ace of Cups

Closing the World Exercises

The World reminds us that endings can be beautiful. Completion is not a loss — it’s integration. It’s the moment you stop repeating the same chapter and finally turn the page with peace.

As always, you can return to these fictional emails anytime and practice with your own cards: one card, three cards, or a full spread. Every round will teach you something new about how The World speaks.
