Justice: Practical Tarot Exercises

Introduction

Justice is the card of truth, fairness, and accountability. It reminds us that every choice carries weight — our actions create ripples, and sooner or later, those ripples return to us.

When Justice shows up, it calls us to clarity: What’s really happening here? What do I need to own? Where do I need to be honest with myself and others? This is not about punishment — it’s about balance, truth, and integrity.

How these exercises work

In every practice section, you’ll find a fictional client email — the kind of question real querents often send. Alongside it, I’ll give you a set card (or three-card combination) to use as a starting point.

Your task is to write a reply as if you were the professional tarot reader. When you’re ready, you can open the spoiler to see how I might have answered. My examples aren’t “the correct” interpretations (tarot doesn’t work that way), but they give you a comparison point.

Of course, you don’t have to stick with my given cards. You can return to these emails anytime and:

  • Pull a single random card,
  • Try three random cards, or
  • Lay out a Celtic Cross —

…and watch how the meaning shifts. These fictional emails are reusable practice prompts you can come back to again and again.

Exercise 1

📝 Fictional client email:

Hi, I’m Eva. I’ve been dating someone for about six months, but lately I’ve had this nagging feeling that he’s hiding something. He’s still sweet to me, but sometimes his stories don’t add up. I don’t want to jump to conclusions, but I also don’t want to ignore my intuition. Can the cards show me what’s really going on?

💬 What’s happening here:
This is Justice in relationships — truth, clarity, integrity.

🎯 Your Exercise (set card for comparison): Imagine you’ve drawn Justice.

Exercise 1.2

Now imagine Eva’s spread expands:
Justice + The Moon + The King of Cups.

Exercise 2

📧 Fictional Client Email — Daniel

Hello,

I work in finance, and I’ve recently been asked to take on a new project. The pay would be excellent, but I’d be working under someone who cuts corners and bends the rules. I’m worried that if I accept, I’ll end up in situations that don’t sit right with me. Do the cards show me how I should approach this?

Thanks,
Daniel

💬 Looking at the Bigger Picture:
This is Justice in career — integrity, ethics, responsibility.

🎯 Your Exercise (set card for comparison): Imagine you’ve drawn Justice.

Exercise 2.2

Now imagine Daniel’s spread expands:
Justice + The Hierophant + The Seven of Pentacles.

Closing the Justice Exercises

That’s the end of our Justice practice. This card reminds us that clarity and honesty are not just about others — they’re also about ourselves. Justice calls us to truth, even when it’s uncomfortable, because only truth can set us free.

Remember: you can return to these fictional emails as often as you like. Pull one card, three, or a full spread — each time, you’ll discover new shades of Justice in action.
