Dream Interpretation: Totem Pole
A totem pole is a cultural heritage of the native american people. Sadly, the reason why it’s known worldwide is how it has been depicted in movies full of stereotypes and racism. Although those movies aren’t broadcasted a lot anymore, people still remember them. For many, it’s part of their childhood memories. Dreams should never be a source of shame. So, if you’re not from the culture, and your dreams decide to deliver a message through the symbol of the totem pole, this is okay. Rather than starting to worry if your dreams are trying to tell you that you’re disrespectful deep down and not aware of it, see it as a cry for attention. At least, it brought you here. And we will decode it together now.
If your dream was long, messy and full of other symbols, don’t worry. My book “Dreams That Wake You Up” describes step by step how you can decode them, using real world examples from years of practice. Of course, you’re always welcome to take a short cut and book a Dream Interpretation with me.
As a totem pole is primarily an object that provides protection, seeing one in your dream can point to your need for security. Ask yourself in which areas of your life you feel unsure or anxious, how you wish to be more protected, and how you can achieve a feeling of securtiy.
Another interpretation points family, especially if the totem pole was showing familiar faces. Did you recognize faces of people you didn’t see or call in a long time? In this case, your dream tries to tell you that you should consider making the call and getting closer to the person again.
And sometimes, it points toward the need to take responsibility and use your time wisely.
In case you were carving a totem pole, your dream tries to send a warning. Be careful of your words and actions. There may be difficulties showing up soon. Stay calm, and think before you act or speak.
In case you were painting the totem pole, you are asked to think about occasions where you lied to family or friends. Even if you thought it had been a white lie, you might have hurt somebody’s feelings or you’re about to get into trouble. Be careful, and from now on, be honest.
