Pick a Pile: What Would Make Your Life Feel Like it Belongs To You Again?
Have you ever caught yourself thinking, “I don’t feel like myself anymore.”
Life happenew. Responsibilities pile up. People disappointed you. Plans didn’t work out the way you hoped. Little by little, you adapted.
You became more careful. More practical. More focused on getting through the week than asking yourself what actually makes you feel alive.
The thing is that losing yourself doesn’t happen in an instance. It’s usually a hundred tiny moments.
The dream you stopped talking about. The hobby you kept postponing. The chapter you should have left years ago. The version of yourself who laughed more easily, trusted more freely, or woke up excited about what the day might bring.
That person isn’t gone. They’ve simply been waiting for you.
Sometimes, finding yourself again doesn’t require becoming somebody new. It requires returning to somebody you’ve always been.
That’s what this Pick-A-Pile reading is about.
We’re going to explore what would make you feel like yourself again, the part of your life that’s quietly asking for your attention, and the change that could reconnect you with the version of yourself that’s been waiting beneath all the responsibilities, disappointments, and routines.
Take a moment to look at the piles in front of you and notice which one catches your attention first. Don’t overthink it. Sometimes the part of us we’ve been missing is also the part that already knows the way home.

Pile 1
Pile 1 – Six of Swords
What would make you feel like yourself again?
Leaving your anger behind. It has already taken enough from you.
The Six of Swords doesn’t make me think about moving to another city or leaving a relationship behind this time. It makes me think about everything you’ve carried with you long after a certain chapter itself ended. I feel like it’s about the argument you still replay in your head. The person you haven’t spoken to in years, yet somehow they’re still part of your daily thoughts. The unfairness you can’t stop returning to. The moments where you imagine finally proving your point, getting your revenge, or watching somebody realize how badly they treated you.
It’s understandable. When somebody hurts us deeply, a part of us wants balance. Justice. Closure. Something that makes it all feel worthwhile.
Now this thoughts live rent-free in your head. They wake up with you. They sit beside you while you’re driving. They appear in the shower. They interrupt otherwise beautiful afternoons.
Little by little, somebody who isn’t even part of your life anymore continues occupying space inside it.
That’s what I think this card is asking you to notice. And it’s trying to tell you that you deserve more than spending another year carrying somebody who already left.
I also have the feeling that anger has become strangely familiar. We can get so used to rehearsing old conversations and old fights that they begin feeling like part of our personality. We almost forget what our inner world sounded like before they moved in.
Imagine how much quieter your mind would become if you simply stopped attending arguments that ended years ago. Imagine how much lighter your days would feel if every time your thoughts wandered back to that person, you gently turned your attention toward the life that’s happening right now instead.
That’s the journey of the Six of Swords. It isn’t sailing away from another person. It’s sailing away from becoming emotionally tied to them.
Perhaps that’s what would make you feel like yourself again. Not winning. Not getting even. Not hearing the apology you’ve been waiting for. Simply reaching a place where their name no longer has the power to decide whether today will be a good day. Because the opposite of anger isn’t always forgiveness. Sometimes it’s freedom.
And I have a feeling you’ve been ready for that freedom much longer than you’ve allowed yourself to believe. 🤍
Pile 2
Pile 2 – Wheel of Fortune
What would make you feel like yourself again?
Starting to steer your own life again.
The Wheel of Fortune is often described as luck, fate, or destiny. When I look at this card, I see something much more empowering. I see someone who’s been sitting in the passenger seat for too long.
Perhaps you’ve been waiting for the right moment. Waiting until life becomes easier. Waiting until motivation returns. Waiting until somebody gives you permission.
Meanwhile, the wheel has barely moved. Simply because nobody has taken hold of it.
The Wheel of Fortune asks, “What if one small decision today changed the direction of everything?”
I also have the feeling you’ve become a little too comfortable reacting to life instead of creating it.
The email arrives. You answer it.
The phone rings. You pick it up.
Work needs something. You do it.
Days begin to feel like one long response to everybody else’s priorities. Somewhere along the way, your own stopped making the list.
That’s why this card feels so alive to me. It’s asking you to interrupt the pattern. Apply for the job. Book the trip. Start the course. Open the online shop. Send the message. Say yes to the invitation. Raise your hand. Take the first step before every detail has been figured out. This is the kind of movement that creates possibilities that standing still never can.
The thing about the Wheel of Fortune is that opportunities often appear while we’re already moving. We imagine life rewarding certainty, yet it so often rewards action instead. One conversation leads to another. One small decision opens a door you couldn’t have planned for. One chance meeting quietly changes the direction of a year.
None of that happens while we’re waiting for the perfect moment. It happens because we decided to begin.
Perhaps that’s what would make you feel like yourself again. A different direction. A U-turn away from waiting and toward participating. Because I have a feeling you’ve spent enough time hoping life would surprise you. Maybe it’s your turn to surprise life.
The Wheel of Fortune reminds us that sometimes the biggest change doesn’t begin with a miracle. It begins with somebody deciding, “I’m taking the steering wheel back.” And I have a feeling that somebody is you. 🍀
Pile 3
Pile 3 – Queen of Wands
What would make you feel like yourself again?
Taking your dream seriously.
I don’t think I need to tell you what that dream is. The moment you saw this card, something probably came to mind. Maybe it was the business you’ve wanted to build. The book you’ve always wanted to write. The degree you keep thinking about. The country you dream of living in. The creative project that’s been quietly waiting for years. Whatever it is… You already know.
The interesting thing is that you don’t seem to dismiss this dream because you believe it’s impossible. You dismiss it because believing in it would change your life.
As long as it stays safely tucked away in the back of your mind, nothing has to happen. You can tell yourself, “Maybe one day.”, “When I have more time.”, “When life settles down.”, “When I’m more experienced.” Those thoughts feel comforting. They also keep your dream exactly where it is. Waiting.
The Queen of Wands has uncomfortable questions for you. “What if this isn’t just a dream anymore?” and “What if it’s your direction?”
I also have the feeling you’ve been treating this part of yourself almost apologetically. You mention it with a little laugh. You quickly change the subject. You tell yourself it’s unrealistic before anyone else gets the chance. Almost as though making it smaller protects you from the disappointment of wanting it too much. It doesn’t. It only makes you live smaller than you were meant to.
The Queen of Wands doesn’t ask whether success is guaranteed. She asks whether your own life is worth your full commitment. Because imagine putting every ounce of your creativity, your energy, your attention, and your courage into the thing that has been calling you for years. Imagine waking up tomorrow and deciding, “I’m done treating this like a side thought.” That doesn’t mean quitting your job this afternoon. It means stopping the habit of placing your dream at the bottom of every list. Giving it your best hour instead of your last exhausted fifteen minutes. Investing in it. Learning about it. Talking about it without apologizing. Building it one step at a time.
Perhaps that’s what would make you feel like yourself again. Finally admitting you’ve known your purpose for much longer than you’ve been willing to admit.
The Queen of Wands reminds us that some dreams keep returning because they aren’t passing fantasies. They’re invitations. And I have a feeling life has been extending this invitation to you for a very long time. Maybe it’s finally time to answer. Not halfway. Not “when everything is perfect.” With your whole heart. Because one day you’ll look back and realize something. The biggest risk was never trying and failing. The biggest risk was spending years pretending that the one thing that made you feel truly alive wasn’t really that important.
Deep down… I don’t think you’ve ever believed that. And perhaps today is the day you stop acting as though you do. 🔥🤍
